Emergency contraceptive pill
Pill taken by a woman after sexual intercourse when she did not use contraception and does not want to get pregnant. Also called "morning-after" pill. The pill delays ovulation and thus reduces the risk of getting pregnant. The sooner the woman takes the emergency contraceptive pill the bigger the chance she will not get pregnant. Preferably within 24 hours, but up to 3 or 5 days after unprotected sex. The amount of days you can still take it depends on the type of pill you have access to. At the pharmacy you can get the emergency contraceptive pill. Regular methods of contraception are more reliable.
